Welcome Sharon Twomey Therapy

About me
I’m Sharon, a psychotherapeutic counsellor offering both short- and long-term therapy in Brighton and Hove, available in person and online. I provide a warm, reflective space for those navigating life’s challenges—whether that means feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or uncertain about the way forward. I bring over 15 years’ experience working with children and adults in complex health settings, including the NHS and children’s services. My practice is trauma-informed and rooted in care for the depth and complexity of the emotional world.

 How I work
My approach is psychodynamic and relational, grounded in the belief that many emotional struggles stem from early experiences and relationships. These patterns can shape how we see ourselves and relate to others, often in ways that feel limiting or painful. I offer a warm, compassionate space to explore these dynamics and support clients in reconnecting with their inner vitality. I believe that meaningful change happens within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship—one where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported. As this connection deepens, many clients find themselves engaging with life in a more present, open, and authentic way
